Odis Open: The Tradition Continues
More than twenty years ago on a Friday afternoon a small group of friends got together to play a round of golf together. I think there were five foursomes. The winners got a plastic trophy and the shirts were tee shirts. When the day was over we were all sitting around laughing about the great day and someone said let's do this next year and someone said what should we call it and Philly "Cheesestaek" Sayles said let's call it The Odis Open and there it was the genesis of The Odis Open. Over the last twenty three years the goal of the Odis Open was to get friends together to see each other, laugh together, play a little golf, have a beverage, eat good food, and listen to great music. I think we've been successful. Over the years we have added the coveted Claret Jug trophy (Chef- bring back the original), have added the hallowed Green Jacket and Green Jacket Ceremony to the winners, and this year we are looking forward to our first Green Jacket dinner on Friday night for all past winners.
This year we are playing at Hopkinton Country Club. We look forward to being back at the Hill where our first Odis Open was held.
